Gurudwara Nanak Jheera at Bidar, Karnataka
Gurudwara Nanak Jheera
We went to Gurudwara Nanak Jheera Sahib from Hyderabad on 22nd January,2005. We started from Hyderabad (A.P.) in the morning and reached Bidar in Karnataka, which is a distance of nearly 140 km, in about 3 hours.
Here are some pictures from my visit to Gurudwara Nanak Jheera at Bidar in Karnataka.

History
Guru Nanak had come to Bidar during his tour to South (second Udasi) after going to Nanded and Golconda (Hyderabad) in the year 1513-1514 . Impressed by the beauty of the hills, Guru Nanak halted at the place and asked Mardana to play the rabab and the Guru started singing kirtan. The entire place started to blossom with beauty.
A large number of people, faqirs and pirs of the area came for the Guru's darshan. Pir Jalaluddin and Yakubali requested the Guru that the water of the entire area is brackish and the people have to dig very deep or go very far to fetch drinking water. They prayed to bless them to rid them of this problem. Guru Nanak touched the rock near him with his 'khram'(wooden sandal) and moved a stone. Lo and behold, a spring of sweet water started flowing from the rock, which is continuing to flow till this day, even after 490 years.
The place has become famous as second Panja Sahib or India's Panja Sahib as Gurudwara Panja Sahib is now in Pakistan. Below is the view of the Amrit Kund where the holy water flowing from the rock collects in a pool.
